SOURCE ★ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: Sure! ♚ FOURTHWALLING: I'd prefer not. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Go for it, but his reaction could range from a threat to a highly inappropriate and escalated response (touch his shoulder, he might grab you and lick your face, idk). With people Kavinsky lets touch him, he's more relaxed and welcomes a lot of touching. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Fight him. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: Kavinsky does not know how to have healthy relationships. Come at him, he could always... grow as a person? ♚ SEX: Kavinsky is gay; any attempt to have sex with a woman will definitely fail but if you wanna try... ★ Permissions ♚ FIRST THING: Kavinsky has little to no regard for personal boundaries. He will physically encroach on other's space, touch them without permission, pull them to him, continuously call them "pet names" even after they have requested him to stop, call people by slurs, text people incessantly, etc. This increases with his interest in the person. With Ronan, who Kavinsky had obvious and intentional interest in, this disregard for boundaries ranged from physically caressing Ronan's head to having a perfectly accurate copy of Ronan's bracelet, leaving several dozen near accurate copies of Ronan's driver's license at Monmouth Manufacturing, whispering in Ronan's ear, and when they were alone for the weekend together, Kavinsky took at least one intimate picture of Ronan's genitalia (which he sent to Gansey), as well as touching Ronan's back and hip without his consent (while Ronan was drugged up and unable to move). ♚ SECOND THING: Kavinsky has little to no regard to himself and other people, except for objects of intense fascination/obsession. This manifests in smaller gestures (swearing, encouraging drug/alcohol use in others, threats of violence) toward larger scale acts of disrespect and violence (street racing, "substance parties", the eventual violence he exhibits when his obsessions are not reciprocated). He is much more likely to be affected by a "slight" from someone he has construed as important enough to elevate toward this obsessive level, and these slights tend to result in more violent and destructive behavior; for lesser people, he is generally dismissive, as they are expendable. ♚ THIRD THING: Kavinsky's own lack of self-worth, as a result of his suicidal tendencies, manifests in reckless behavior, drug and alcohol use, drug and alcohol sales, lack of sleep, psychological abuse toward friends and relations, violent tendencies, and deliberate acts of destruction. ♚ FOURTH THING: Kavinsky will be continuing his trend of self and generally destructive behavior. He will continue to be aggressive, physically and sometimes sexually, toward people, particularly if he takes an interest in them. ♚ OPT-OUT: All comments are screened. Name: Joseph Kavinsky Door: Right - "There's no future." Canon: The Raven Cycle Canon Point: Chapter 56 of The Dream Thieves Age: 17 Appearance: link History: Here Personality: Positive: charismatic, creative, dedicated Negative: destructive, violent, reckless, manipulative, possessive, controlling The son of an abusive Bulgarian mobster and an absent-yet-present mother, Joseph Kavinsky is destructive: both inwardly and outwardly. He's notorious around Henrietta for throwing substance parties that generally include plenty of vehicular mayhem and destruction of property, and he frequently indulges in drinking, drugs, sex, and fighting. He's described as infamous, despicable, and simply "an asshole." He is a foil to other characters: he revels in the darker, more insidious elements of privilege and wealth that Gansey represents and he embodies the violence and lack of restraint that Adam struggles with. Like Ronan, he has family issues and a past that would break anyone; unlike Ronan, he takes his pain and makes it external. Kavinsky is charismatic and is well liked by parts of the community; he a group of loyal followers that indulge in his every whim and his parties are always well-attended. He is known for being untouchable and invincible: he has a flagrant disregard for authority and uses whatever privilege and resources he has to get out of trouble. There are rumors throughout Aglionby Academy that Kavinsky has paid off state troopers and judges, or that his father has, and that he's never been stopped since. Kavinsky has trouble forming normal friendships: even though he feels a kinship with Ronan Lynch, the only way he knows how to get his attention is to harass and challenge him. He lures Ronan into spending time alone with him with hints that he can help him, then uses that influence to gain physical closeness. He tells Ronan that "consent is overrated" and touches Ronan's naked back while he's passed out on drugs Kavinsky provided for him. Possessive and controlling, Kavinsky keeps a tight grasp on his circle of friends and he obsesses over drawing Ronan in. His violence isn't just against property or in threats: Kavinsky confesses to Ronan that his father and his best friend are forgeries and insinuates that he killed them both. That he dreamed them both back, more ideal versions (in Kavinsky's mind) of themselves, points to loneliness and longing. His obsession with Ronan suggests the same: Ronan Lynch is possibly the only person in Henrietta, possibly the world, that might understand him, and Kavinsky takes his rejection personally. When he doesn’t get his way or get things that he wants, he becomes manipulative and threatening. In the face of Ronan's rejection, he takes Ronan's little brother hostage, forcing their final confrontation. Kavinsky's dedication to perfecting his dream-craft leads to his ability to create perfect replicas and forgeries of anything he can imagine. Somewhere, there is an entire field of imperfect Mitsubishi Evos that Kavinsky dreamed back, practicing until he could get it perfect. Kavinsky teaches Ronan how to perfect and control his own dreaming power. He is observant and calculating behind his reckless exterior: he is willing to use any information he can glean for his own purposes, whether it's to keep his friends close or to hurt his enemies. He understands the bonds between the Raven Boys, even if he can't stand that they are their own entity, and that they have Ronan, not him. He also understands how to trigger reactions in each of them, getting under their skin with precision. And all of this, every ounce of it, is a concerted effort to avoid the nightmares of his mind and his reality. Powers and Abilities: Kavinsky can pull things out of his dreams, living and inanimate.
